A little landscaping

While I was out there, we made a list of all the things that were bugging her...that she's been too tired or depressed to do. One of them was some landscaping in her front yard. We hauled these rocks from a pile in her backyard, up a steep incline to surround one of her perennial flowerbeds. First, we tried loading up the wheelbarrow--but after three trips of my pushing it up the hill and having to take three breaks each trip just to catch my breath (the altitude)...we decided to carry the rest of the rocks up.

Here is Phyllis putting some finishing touches on her bed. It was so good for her to be outside and doing something productive. Her spirits lifted, and she was more active and talkative. Her meds are working too.

Phyllis in one of her cute hats

Here is Phyllis in one of her cute hats. She had her final chemo treatment while I was out there--and her Dr. was so proud of her ability to tolerate such an aggressive schedule.

She has alot of pain (neuropathy) and fatigue with this last chemo drug.

Next, she'll have surgery (on the 13th) and then two weeks later, she starts 7 weeks of daily radiation therapy.

G'ma and I are headed to Colorado on the 12th, for 10 days, to be there for her surgery and recovery.

Her thyroid was biopsied; she has a large mass, but it is benign!! Thank God for all your prayers. This is the first good news so far.

Will keep you posted.

Colorado in the springtime

...The first night I was at Phyllis', it snowed about 6 inches or so. Absolutely beautiful. By noon, it had all melted. This is the view from her balcony, looking out back of her house.
