I took this photo of Louis (John's dad) while he was in the Emergency Room on March 12th, using my cell phone. I then proceeded to forget about it for awhile. When I discovered it, I sent it to my email address. Who would have known that he would die a few hours later that very day?? He looks happy and comfortable. So glad he didn't suffer and that we were all with him.

June Colorado Trip
Grandma and I are going out to Colorado June 12-22. Phyllis is having her surgery on the 13th and we want to be there for her then. They won't probably start her radiation treatments for another couple of weeks after her surgery...so we won't be there for that unfortunately.
Currently, she is trying an adjunct drug to help her depression. Let's pray that it works and her spirits are lifted. When I spoke with her last night, she sounded perkier and more talkative.

My flowers
David keeps asking me to post pictures of my flower beds. I love perennials, so that is what I have planted in my beds. Then in my hanging baskets and pots, I plant impatiens and coleus and geraniums. ( I haven't gotten them planted yet.) Our daffodils came up (in the front yard) and were in full bloom when we had a frost--they all drooped and died. Currently, my columbine, yellow coriopsus, iris, and lily of the valley are the only ones in bloom. It is difficult to see some of these from a distance, when I shot pictures of the fence line. Once the peony bushes are in bloom (probably by this weekend because there are lots of big buds), I'll post a photo of them . I have a wild flower bed behind the back wall of the house. Nothing is in bloom yet--but I planted hollyhocks, morning glory, gladiolus azaelia. When they bloom later on, I'll post pictures of them. On the south fence line, I have day lilies (stella de oro). They will bloom June through September. I'll post a picture of them once they start to blossom. In the meantime--I've posted what I do have below.
